Dr. Aman Abye, a native of Southern California, is a first generation American. The son of Abye J. Asseffa (Ethiopia) and Dr. Pauline E. Brooks (America), Aman was raised in Los Angeles in a very diverse community. He was a product of the public school system in Los Angeles where he attended John Marshall High School. In high school Aman was an honor role student and a 3 sport varsity athlete. Upon graduating from Marshall, Aman was recruited to attend the University of Pennsylvania where he would excel in the classroom as well as on the football field. As a freshmen and sophomore, Aman helped Penn’s football team achieve back to back ivy league titles (93′ and 94’). During his first 3 years the football team led the nation with a winning streak of 24 straight games. In 1997 Aman graduated from Penn with a Bachelors degree in psychology.
Immediately after graduation, Aman returned to Los Angeles where he pursued his dream of playing professional football while also teaching/coaching high school at his alma mater. He began his career in Los Angeles playing for the Avengers. While in the arena football league he also played in Richmond, VA and Philadelphia, PA. During his 5½ years in the arena league, Aman had the tremendous opportunity to travel all over the United States and make connections in the sports world that would eventually prove to be integral in his future development. In 2000, while playing outside of Philadelphia, Aman began the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Temple University. During the next three years, Aman would juggle a hectic schedule that included being a full time doctoral student as well as being large part of his arena football teams success.
Upon graduating with a doctorate degree in physical therapy, Dr. Abye would retire from football and return home to begin his new career as a health care professional. For the first 3 years he was part of a great rehab team in the heart of Beverly Hills. There he had the opportunity to learn about the field and grow professionally, grow professionally, while treating a wide variety clients ranging from the most highly active professional athlete to the most highly sedentary desk jockey. In October 2006, Dr. Abye branched out on his own and started Stay Ready Physical Therapy. Currently there are two clinics in the greater Los Angeles area: Miracle Mile and Brentwood. Coming soon, there will also be a third clinic that will serve the area in which Dr. Abye grew up, Atwater Village/Silver Lake. In 2017 Dr. Abye joined the Los Angeles Clippers as their first staff physical and performance therapist. Today Dr. Abye remains very busy with his two clinics, coaching and mentoring inner-city youth, and working and traveling with the LA Clippers. Dr. Abye maintains an active lifestyle and participates in many athletic activities.
There is a theme of diversity that defines Dr. Abye’s past via his life experiences. This is what allows him to create a healing environment that is welcoming to all.

Dr. Assaf Zoor, DPT, graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia with a B.S. in Kinesiology and later graduated from Temple University (TU) as a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2015. Assaf is excited to have joined Stay Ready Physical Therapy after recently moving from Philadelphia, PA where he lived with his wife for over eight years.
Assaf was born and raised in Israel, completed three years in the military and was a member of the Israeli gymnastics national team where he competed in numerous international competitions. Assaf was recruited to TU division I men’s gymnastics team in 2009 and competed at Temple for four years. Throughout his career he sustained multiple injuries, which exposed him to the world of physical therapy and rehabilitation medicine. He is a two time Academic All-American Scholar Athlete and a Temple University Trustee Ten Student-Athlete. Assaf enrolled in a dual DPT/PhD program in which he worked, alongside post-doctoral and PhD students, on research studies that focused on discovering innovative technology systems for assessment of postural stability and balance for which he received the College of Public Health Research Fund Award. In his last year of graduate school he was awarded the Hy Dervitz Award for academic excellence, collaborative leadership and social conscience.
Assaf began his journey to obtain his doctorate in physical therapy because he wants to help, inspire, motivate and educate others about health and wellness. His main interests are treatment of chronic pain, vestibular therapy, and orthopedics. In Philadelphia, he presented regularly about current pain science to assist the local community with the battle against the chronic pain epidemic in the U.S. In addition, being an avid fitness athlete, Assaf has been involved with CrossFit for over two years. Before moving to California, Assaf developed a satellite physical therapy office at the CrossFit box. He worked with high level athletes to help them return to sports after injuries, to teach them ways to prevent injuries, and to improve their performance.

Has been working in the field of Physical Therapy for over 15 years. In her previous positions as General Manager & Billing Specialist and the Director of Patient Affairs, she implemented the billing systems and operating procedures for numerous clinics, managed all medical claim and resolution issues, and coordinated all professional athletic organization accounts. Darla continues her education with the ever changing policies of Medicare, private insurance, and HIPAA laws. In addition, to further her knowledge of patient rehabilitation she earned her certification as a Pilates Instructor and graduated from the Massage School of Santa Monica in 2007. Darla now proudly utilizes her patient advocacy and billing expertise strictly for the Stay Ready Physical Therapy clientele. With an extensive background in theater, gymnastics, and dance, Darla spends her creative time photographing live music, dance, and theater events. She enjoys playing drums and bass guitar, and is currently earning her diploma from the Photography Institute.

Tricia has been a part of the Stay Ready family since 2016, starting as an aide and moving forward to become the floor/aide manager. She then soon realized her organizational skills alongside her knowledge of the clinical side of the company could be of great use by working in the administrative side of Stay Ready. Currently, Tricia is the assistant office manager with an amazing team of rockstars alongside her. Tricia is grateful to be part of a growing company and is excited to help develop more milestones with a smile on her face!

Karin graduated with her doctorate in physical therapy from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. She received her bachelor’s degree from University of Miami in 2010, though she has always been a California native.
Karin spent her time in physical therapy school working to raise advocacy for the PT profession through being a class representative for the APTA. She immediately became interested in both orthopedics and Early Intervention pediatric therapy, and completed a research study on improving the gait characteristics of a child with transverse myelitis. Since graduation, she has been splitting her time between orthopedics and pediatrics. In addition to traditional orthopedic conditions, she has treated a variety of specialty diagnoses including TMJ, women’s pelvic floor disorders, and chronic neurological conditions including stroke, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson’s, and Bell’s Palsy. In pediatrics she specialized in working with children aged 0-3 years to promote correct and timely gross motor development for those with low muscle tone, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and various genetic disorders.
Karin is so excited to join the team at Stay Ready and further involve herself in sports rehab. In her free time, Karin is always found either road cycling in the summer or skiing in the winter. She values her ability to stay active, and is making it her passion and career goal to ensure that all who come to her for help will be able to do what they love and live the life they enjoy.

John was born and raised on the beautiful island of St. Thomas; a US territory in the Virgin Islands. After graduating high school, he moved to Washington DC in 2008 and earned a B.S in Health Promotion from American University in 2012. After moving back home, he worked at a wellness center as a personal training and physical therapy rehab aide. His passion for helping others improve their fitness and mobility led him to pursue his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Afraid of cold weather, John decided to move to Southern California and graduated from Mount Saint Mary’s University with his DPT in 2019.
John has always loved to compete. At a young age, he started playing soccer. In his youth, he represented the Virgin Islands national team; competing in tournaments throughout the Caribbean and across the mainland. His current hobbies include playing basketball, soccer, running, hiking, slacklining, and strength training. Throughout his life experiences, he developed a respect for and appreciation for diversity. John enjoys when his life is in balance and his approach to rehab follows these ideals.

Dr. Sierra Speck earned her doctorate of physical therapy from the University of Dayton. After being born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio she decided to move to the beautiful city of Los Angeles to join the Stay Ready Family. During her time at UD, she was able to participate in research involving collegiate and professional athletes in which she found her love for health and wellness. Sierra is a former competitive cheerleader and rugby player who still remains active in the community. She enjoys hiking, bike riding, skiing, and anything else that involves the great outdoors. Her constant drive for patient care and eagerness to continue learning is what aids her abilities to educate others on how to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. Sierra has worked with a wide variety of patients of all shapes, sizes, and ages to aid them in reaching their ultimate functional goals. She is a self-motivated and responsible therapist who is ready for anything!

Dr. Jan-Bernard Aquino, also known as TJ, was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. TJ originally found his admiration for the world of physical rehabilitation when he first got involved in sports medicine back in high school. From there, he pursued the path to physical therapy school by obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at California State University, Northridge in 2015. This then led him to completing and receiving his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree at West Coast University, Center of Graduate Studies in 2021.
TJ has previously worked as a physical therapy aide at multiple outpatient clinics. During his clinical rotations as a student physical therapist, he had worked with a variety of populations, including geriatrics, pediatrics, and sports-specific athletes. Throughout his experiences, he found his passion for treating and guiding patients with orthopedic conditions towards their desired goals and to improve their overall quality of life.
TJ plans to pursue an orthopedic residency to build on his knowledge and skill-set to continue to provide holistic care for his patients. In his free time, he enjoys basketball, distance running, and strength training. He hopes to share his passion for an active lifestyle with all of his patients.

Dr. Rico Leung was born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley region of Los Angeles California. Rico knew from early on in high school that he wanted to pursue a future in physical therapy and spread awareness for health and holistic healing. He first began his journey into healthcare by obtaining his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology with an emphasis on Applied Physiology from the University of Southern California in 2017. After a couple years of additional training and schooling, he received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Health Sciences in 2022.
Rico has volunteered and trained as a physical therapy aide for several outpatient clinics throughout Los Angeles, serving many post-surgical and geriatric patients. During his formal training as a student physical therapist, Rico also continued working with orthopedic, neurologic, sports rehabilitation, and inpatient populations. While completing his studies and practice as a doctoral candidate Rico led his cohort as class president throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, collaborating with school administrators and peers to continue the delivery of high-quality education through lockdowns, Zoom meetings, and return to in-person learning. Since starting work as a clinician, he has gained an appreciation for working with patients with various conditions with an emphasis on improving balance and reducing the risk of falls.
Rico plans to continue working with patients while pursuing experience and training with Eastern medicine that can be incorporated into physical rehabilitation practices. He enjoys cooking and trying new foods from around the world, hiking, and is currently exploring tai chi practice to help patients with balance and stability through low-impact activity that can be fun and relaxing.

Dr. Berengere graduated with her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Saint Augustine in San Marco, CA. She received her bachelor’s degree from Cal State Dominguez Hills in Carson, CA, in 2012. Bere first discovered her love for rehab as a high school basketball player, spending her off-season in the athletic training office. She later volunteered in multiple physical therapy clinics, inpatient and outpatient, where she assisted in the treatment of patients with a variety of orthopedic and neurological conditions. She brings her bubbly personality and smiles to any situation. She enjoys staying active, spending lots of time in the sun, and spending time with her family. Bere enjoys helping her patients accomplish anything they set their minds to. Her goal as a physical therapist is to provide the tools and encouragement to help you return to an active lifestyle.

Dr. Vincenzo Ferranti was born and raised in the Metro Detroit area of Michigan. After high school, Vince attended Michigan State University where he received his BS in Kinesiology. He then attended Oakland University where he received his Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. As a DPT Vince moved across the country as a travel therapist, working in a wide variety of outpatient clinical settings and treating diverse patient populations. Through his travels, Vince gained a unique perspective and appreciation for his profession and what it can provide to patients from all walks of life.
In his personal life, Vince enjoys running, lifting weights, cycling, hiking, and exploring any chance he gets. It’s Vince’s philosophy that no matter your current physical activity level, working with a skilled physical therapist will help you make strides toward any goal you’re looking to achieve!

Danny helps people get back to their daily activities as well as physical fitness goals while also providing healthy tips and guides to increase healthier living. A Los Angeles native, Danny graduated from Cal State L.A. in 2010 with a degree in Kinesiology. During that time he played 4 years of college baseball. Danny is preparing to further his professional goals by applying to graduate work in physical therapy. In addition to his work at Stay Ready, he also coaches baseball at Marshall High and leads an energetic physical lifestyle in jiu-jitsu, tae kwon do, working out, and playing baseball.

Jourdan J. Hardy received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Kinesiology degree in the fall of 2017 at California State University of Los Angeles. Fast forward to the winter of 2018, when he joined the team at Stay Ready Physical Therapy as an aide learning the in’s and out’s of a PT outpatient orthopedic clinic. By the summer of 2019, he was then accepted into CBD College in Koreatown where he began his journey in becoming a certified Physical Therapist Assistant. Now that he has graduated and become certified as of 2021, he is ready to rejoin the team at a higher position from where he started.
Jourdan has been active ever since he was a kid. He grew up in the West Adams district of Los Angeles playing and watching sports such as golf, football (GO CHARGERS and BRUINS), baseball, and basketball. As he got older he developed an interest in hiking, running, boxing, kayaking, and indoor rock climbing. Along with physical activity being one of his passions, the medical field became one of them as well. Putting the two together is what ultimately led him to find a love for the field of physical therapy.
With his new position, Jourdan’s goals are to help facilitate positive changes in patients’ rehab journey along with helping them gain the confidence and overcome their fears needed for them to achieve their goals within recovery. He also wants to assist the patients in embracing the challenges that they may stumble upon on the road to getting healthy.

Ralph has made a career of making people healthier from his experiences as a coach at the CSUN Center for Achievement for the physically disabled, as a strength coach for LMU Rugby, as the director of fitness for Brik Fitness, to working with MMA/jiu jitsu champions, and travel and care for celebrities. He has realized, after years of experience through different methods of coaching, that the common factor is his passion to help people accomplish a goal—whether it be physically or mentally and how to attack that plan with hard, honest work. This is the approach he brings to his custom fitness and training programs at Stay Ready. Ralph has a BS in Kinesiology and certifications in NASM CPT, CES, PES, TFW, FMS, SFMA, and KBA. Outside of work, his interests and hobbies include football, jiu jitsu, and kicking ass!
